Day 1 : Arrival and night walk in the Botanical gardens.

Day 2 : Morning Shoebill watching then transfer to Mabira (Night Herping)After early morning breakfast, our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel, transfer to Mabamba Swamp.
This is the best place to spot the rare shoebill visit at Mabamba Wetlands.
A canoe sailed through papyrus swamp will take you at the best spot of spotting the Shoebill bird among other rare Africa birds like the Malachite Kingfisher, African Jacana, and Saddle – billed Stork, among others Birding is done on traditional canoe; the wetlands are home to a variety of different bird species.After shoebill watching, you will be transferred to Mabira forest.
Upon reaching Mabira, you will check-in to the hotel and prepare for night herping.

Day 3 : Full Day Herping and Night Herping in MabiraOn this day, early morning after your breakfast our driver
guide will pick you up from the hotel head to the forest for a
full day herping. We shall also embark on a night herping
after dinner.Target species:
Bitis gabonica, Bitis nasicornis, Atheris hispida, Atheris
squamigera, some Forest and Jameson mambas plus variable non-venomous
common snake species.

Day 4 : Transfer to Mityana forest (Afternoon herping) After enjoying morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to get transferred to Mityana. Upon reaching Mityana, you will head straight to afternoon herping. After herping, you will check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5, 6 & 7  Herping in Mityana forests
After breakfast, we shall be leaving the hotel by at least 7:00am for the forest. Herping usually starts from 8:00am and ends depending on our targets met or not. We do not guarantee anything when it comes to snake excursions because we do not make appointment with these wonderful creatures. The rule is to be determined, work as a team, and of course we can’t dictate nature.
However, the target species during our herpetological expeditions in Mityana are the Gaboon vipers (B.Gabonica), Rhinoceros vipers (B. Arsicornis), Jameson’s mambas (D. Jamesoni Kaimosae), Green bush vipers (A. squamigera), Rough scaled bush vipers (A. hispida), and many more. As a way of promoting community tourism, we do use some local guides who will be joining us to help in spotting.
Communication: To ease communication during this activity, we do use Walkie talkies so that we all keep alert and informed. This also helps us not to get lost from the rest of the team. Lunch: Sometimes we go with packed lunch or come back and have lunch from the hotel. Herping may stop at 1pm or 2pm depending on the weather
Day 9 : Morning Herping in Rwenzori then transfer to Queen  (Afternoon Game Drive)
Target species include;
Atheris nitschei, Trioceros johnstoni, Trioceros ellioti, and other different chameleons. After herping you will have lunch, and then get transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon game drive.
Upon reaching Queen and after checking in your lodge, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for an afternoon game drive which is commonly done in Kasenyi plains.
During the game drive you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks among others which will be grazing in the open savannah plains, view predators like lions and elephants if you are lucky, view different bird species among others.

Herping & Wildlife Expedition
Day 10 : Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise then transfer to Musambwa Island.

Early morning after breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from your lodge for an amazing game drive that may take about 4 – 5 hours. After the game drive, your driver guide will take you back to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for an amazing boat cruise on Kaziga channel – a water body that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. During the boat cruise you will be able to view large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view elephants, buffaloes, warthogs among others drinking water along the shores, view water birds like hornbills, cormorants, kingfishers, bee-eaters, fish eagles among others

After the boat cruise which takes about 2 to 3 hours, you will return to the lodge, check out and meet up with your driver guide to get transferred to the landing site to the cobra island (Musambwa Island). It will be a long drive and you will have dinner along the way

Day 11 : Herping on Musambwa Island

Early in the morning after breakfast, we will cross to Musambwa island. This 45 minute boat sail will transport us to a crazy, strange world. The island is inhabited by a small fishing community, a huge board colony and of course loads of brown forest cobras. The cobras are there for the birds, the bird and the people for the fish. But they all live in harmony, to the level, where people share their houses (shacks) with the cobras,
and many times even their beds. Nobody is allowed to harm the snakes

Day 12 : Transfer to Entebbe, drop off to airport and end of trip. Very early in the morning after breakfast, we shall have a long drive to back to Entebbe.On the way you will have a stopover at the Equator to take photos and buy souvenirs. From the equator we shall proceed to Entebbe, where our driver guide will drop you off to the airport and this will mark the end of the 12 days amazing trip with Herping and Wildlife Safaris.
